How this started.

In the book of Genesis, the scriptures record that God destroyed the Earth and a global flood covered the planet for over a year. Could that possibly be correct? Did Noah and the flood really happen as described? Or is this just allegory or myth? When did that happen? Based on a literal interpretation of all the genealogies in Genesis, it was 4,450 to 4,600 years ago. And, according to the Bible, our Earth is not much older than the flood, at just under 6,000 years old. Yet our own science currently shows that Earth is greater than 4 billion years old. Can we reconcile the Bible and science? Is there one correct answer, and why on Earth does it even matter? This study shows there is one answer, and it does matter.

In my attempt to reconcile science, the Bible, and faith, I recalled concepts in modern physics that I realized could be applied to validate Earth’s history—the power of scientific models. Theoretical physicists Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking, and Leonard Susskind, among others, have espoused rigid rules to evaluate models, testing for contradictory evidence, consistent alignment, and ensuring simple and elegant explanations. This modeling tool became my “Aha!” moment. I could take the current ancient Earth history and make a model out of it to test it. As a result, my faith in God’s Word has grown exponentially. The Bible’s creation and subsequent destruction story is not just an allegory or fable. It is, in fact, supported by science itself. This has convinced me that the biblical history is absolutely accurate, and the Earth is exponentially younger than I had ever conceived.

I challenge you, in love, to come walk this path with me, from science to faith. In this study, we will critically evaluate the application of scientific modeling and compare the results to what we have been taught all our lives. Your faith will be rewarded.

About Our Founder

Robert Mihin

I love God, and His Word—the Bible—always have. The more I read from the Bible and encountered questions of veracity in pursuit of truth, the more I questioned who I was as a critical thinker. Do I have to keep half my brain anchored in science and the other half in faith? Does science solve the questions we have? Can I be intellectually on the cutting edge and still accept the biblical creation and flood story? Challenging this 4.5-billion-year age theory is considered scientifically, intellectually, and socially unsound by many of our respected teachers, peers, and friends.

During college, I always thought of myself as logical, analytical, and accepting of solid science. In fact, I still do. My studies were heavily concentrated in physics, mathematics, and chemistry. But I enjoy reading all areas of science. These led to my understanding and acceptance of continental drift, the evolution of species, Neanderthals and humans, Pangaea, and the wondrous nature of the cosmos.

A funny thing happened along the way to middle age and beyond. I had children, and one of those children had children. And they each had questions. Now my answers had to be thoughtfully explained and elaborated. Why is the sky blue? Did dinosaurs really exist? What does God look like?

Sadly, I knew that my grandchildren, and many children, would grow up during a time in a world where God and His Word, the Bible, would be regarded solely as allegory, fable, or myth. Today, many prominent scientists reject God and the creation account, looking instead for natural causes to explain our universe, our Earth, and even our existence. Naturalism, the belief that our world can be wholly explained in scientific terms, is the primary approach to the creation and development of the Earth and mankind. As Bible believers, we know that God is the author of our universe and all life. Which view is correct? I wanted my grandchildren to see how God is the author of all nature, and man interprets His creation through science with his own reasoning. What I have come to believe, through my own research, is that science, when properly understood, constructed, and interpreted, validates God’s word, very precisely.  Anyone can do this. I do not have a PhD and I did not require any funding, just the desire to keep exploring and asking why and how.

When my grandson was very young, I began gathering examples of professional publications on how science kept being overturned. For instance, Darwin’s famous study of finches, which were thought to have evolved due to random genetic mutations, was overturned after 170 years.[1] Another example is depression’s supposed link to a lack of serotonin, but this cause has since been invalidated.[2] And then there is the deeply-rooted concept of Neanderthals as hunched-over and grunting ape-like creatures, genetically incapable of breeding with modern humans, which has since been completely reframed. Beyond these, I have gathered scores of publications across various sciences, showing multiple examples of once established theories being challenged or overturned.

It was then that I noticed something. It was not science that was being overturned, but rather scientists’ judgments or interpretations of that science. Too often, when new scientific conclusions were revealed, overturning old ones, no one seemed to question how the initial science was wrong. I performed a diagnostic and noticed a pattern. The assumptions, inferences, and correlations within science (the three of which together I call “judgments”) were where errors lived. Though these “judgments” were initially formed with some scientific basis, they ultimately rested on mankind’s wisdom, biased as it might be toward a desired position.

I was not satisfied and wanted to learn more. This led me to write what God has laid on my heart. The age of our Earth is young, just as declared in his Word, and science, properly interpreted, supports this assertion.
